Ilya Murzinov

Ilya Murzinov is a legal professional with over 20 years of experience across Azerbaijani, Russian, English, and international law. He has held managerial roles at major global consulting firms and industry leaders, including more than 4 years as Head of Legal at a Big4 firm and a leading fintech company in Azerbaijan.

Ilya has deep expertise in M&As (including Due Diligence), joint ventures, legal presence structures, corporate restructurings, complex commercial contracts, banking and finance, oil and gas, investment mechanisms, IP & IT law, currency control, forensic services, international taxation, bankruptcy, and labour law.

He has advised leading Azerbaijani, Russian, and international corporations, as well as public authorities, on diverse legal issues, and has managed complex transactions, greenfield projects, financings, and corporate disputes. As an in-house counsel, he has established end-to-end legal functions, led cross-border legal teams on multijurisdictional mandates, contributed to legislative working groups, and conducted legal trainings for client staff.

Ilya graduated from the Law Faculty of St. Petersburg State University in 2003.
